My Interest

My interest in homebrewing came from the Samuel Adams commercials aired in February and March of 2007. I saw the commercials a couple of times before I decided that it sounded awesome. My fiances brother brews his own beer and I always thought it was interesting that he knew how to do it himself. He’s a Maine inhabitant and the short time I have spent up there has proven that it seems a much larger passtime up there than this area. He explained the process to me once and I must say my head was spinning, so many things and all at once.

The commercial led me to the Samuel Adams website. The website offers a good but very basic resource for brewing your own beer. But does point you in some very good directions. For example, it provides a link to beer-wine.com which offers a very wide selection of beer making supplies. The Samuel Adams Site links to some promotional offers at beer-wine.com. Specifically, the beer making kit which comes in 3 models. The light, dark, and amber kits all come with the same equipment but varying ingredients to make your chosen style of beer. After much consideration and research (about a months worth) I decided to purchase the light beer brewing kit for $150.00 (after shipping and handling).
