The Complete Joy of Homebrewing

Since my initial curiosity on homebrewing I have been scouring the Internet for good resources. I wanted a one stop reference to take me step by step, to hold me by the hand and reassure me that everything was going to be ok. I’ve found it. The book that came with the Samuel Adams brewing kit called The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charles Papazian.

Let me say, WOW! This book is everything that I was wanting and more! Charlie gives solid, brief introduction about the history of beer and then gets to exactly why people purchased the book, how to brew your first homebrew. Within 30 pages I had a complete instruction on how to brew my own beer from start to finish. Intrigued and not yet ready to start on my own I moved on. The book is written in such a manner that it assumes everyone is a beginner. As you learn he also assumes that at certain points you will stop and execute what you have learned. From that point on he talks as if you are a bit more advanced.

This book really is the bible of homebrewing. After that first chapter of explaining the process of homebrewing he then starts to take a step back and discuss the process of malting barley, choosing hops, and other important things to know if you want to become an advanced homebrewer. If you are beyond the curiosity and want to take the leap to brewing your first batch of beer then you need to buy this book.

I am volunteering myself to be one of the first taste-testers of your first batch. Will there be hazard pay?

You were already on the ‘guinea pig’ list. No hazard pay, consume at your own risk. Can’t wait until it’s done either!
